Britney Spears revealed that she was one of the original Swifties in a stunning Instagram post she uploaded this Saturday.
The Instagram update included a backstage recap of Britney and Taylor Swift dating back to 2003.
At this point, Britney was a globally recognized superstar, but Taylor was a working 14-year-old singer completely unknown to the world.
It wasn’t until three years later that Taylor came onto the scene with her single “Tim McGraw” and launched the career that has reportedly made her a billionaire.
In her new Instagram caption, Britney revealed that Taylor approached her through an intermediary 20 years ago and managed to sing for her – leaving the older singer amazed by the young talent’s talent.

“It’s been a long time but kinda cool… There was a knock on my door during my Oops tour,” Britney wrote, setting up the scene.
“My good friend at the time was my manager’s assistant who was trying to become a manager himself,” she explained.
“There was a knock and then he said, ‘I have a girl named Taylor who wants to come in and sing for you.’ I thought of course!!!’
She continued: “He comes in and she’s singing a beautiful song with her guitar. I thought, wow, wow, she’s amazing!!!”
Britney deadpanned: “We took a picture and then she became the most iconic pop woman of our generation.” Kind of cool that she plays stadiums and I prefer her videos to movies any day. She is gorgeous !!! Girl crush.’

Taylor is currently in Buenos Aires as she thunders around the world on her rousing Eras Tour, which has proven to be a commercial success and eventually helped her achieve billionaire status.

Meanwhile, Britney has just released her best-selling memoir, The Woman In Me, in which she takes aim at her ex Justin Timberlake, her parents and her sister Jamie Lynn, who she accused of being a “total idiot.” Age of 11 years.
Her most recent Instagram post, looking back on her relationship with Taylor, also included a postscript directed at her mother Lynne.
In the pages of The Woman In Me, Britney accused her parents Jamie and Lynne of throwing away dolls and diaries from her childhood.
She described her Madame Alexander dolls as particularly important to her, one of the few luxuries in her financially struggling childhood.
Britney said her parents got rid of her “valuable possessions” such as the dolls and diaries back in 2019, when she was undergoing treatment for her mental health and was still in the grip of Jamie’s controversial conservatorship.

Following her release from the conservatorship in 2021, Britney angrily accused her mother of being the “mastermind” of the agreement.
Although their relationships appear to have cooled since then, Britney still took aim at Lynne in the memoir, saying Lynne was involved in the disposal of the dolls.
“I’m not sure who told you I got rid of your dolls and diaries, but I would never do that!” Lynne replied on her Instagram page on Thursday.
“That would be cruel, because I know how much they mean to you.” They are also special to me because we have collected them for years. Of course, I still have your things and would be happy to send them to you if you would like. Please let me know and know how much I love you!’
On Saturday, Britney gave a striking response to her mother’s request in a follow-up to the caption of her Taylor Swift post.
“Ps mom I love you so much but when I went home two years ago there were three dolls in the closets…kind of really weird that you took them out and then put them back in…so messed up,” Britney wrote. “No, I don’t want them.” Keep everything. I honestly don’t care, but honestly.’
