Dozens dead and injured in new Israeli attacks on Gaza

Rescue workers and civil defense teams recovered the bodies of four martyrs from a home belonging to the Hamdan family in Al-Sabra neighborhood after it was attacked by a rocket at dawn, the official Wafa news agency reported.

The warplanes destroyed another house in Deir al-Balah in central Gaza, causing three deaths and dozens of injuries, he added.

For its part, Al Jazeera television reported that nine civilians lost their lives and many were injured in Israeli airstrikes in the Tal al-Zaatar area in the north of the enclave.

Another raid hit United Nations Development Program facilities in the Nasr district of Gaza City, where hundreds of people sought refuge, resulting in more casualties, the source denounced.

The news channel highlighted that two doctors were killed and several displaced people were injured in a bomb attack near the Mahdi maternity hospital in the Nasr district.

Numerous deaths were also reported in two similar incidents in Shaboura and Nuseirat refugee camps.

The Israeli army, for its part, announced that its troops had entered the Shati refugee camp on the outskirts of Gaza City, where there were clashes with Palestinian militiamen.

Amid this panorama, Mohammed R. Mhawish, a journalist, told Al Jazeera that there were intense clashes between the invaders and the Palestinian fighters in many areas.

The humanitarian pauses announced by the army only affect Salah-ed-Din Street, not the arteries leading there, he denounced.

“Within the city (Gaza), fighting continues and all roads are destroyed,” he said.
