Matthew Perry’s death certificate was released in late October by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, the city where the actor died at age 54. The document provides new details about the “Friends” actor’s death, but does not yet define the cause of death.
The certificate was obtained from the website “E! News” and said that Mattew died at 4:17 p.m. local time in the city of California, USA. The filing states: “There were no other significant circumstances that contributed to his death.”
“One person lifted the man’s head above the water and brought him to the edge, then firefighters removed him from the water upon arrival,” Erik Scott, a fire department captain and spokesman, said in the document. The specialist stated that Perry had already died before the rescue team arrived.
Speculation about the case suggests that Matthew Perry died after apparently drowning in a hot tub. The autopsy was deemed “inconclusive” as to the cause of death and new toxicology tests were performed. According to the death certificate, the results are not yet available.
Death of Matthew Perry
Actor Matthew Perry, Chandler from “Friends,” was found dead in the hot tub of a home in Los Angeles, USA, on October 28. Perry became famous for his role as Chandler Bing on the hit 1990s sitcom, which ran for ten seasons and appeared in all 234 episodes. The character was a fan favorite.
Since working on Friends, Matthew has struggled with addiction to alcohol and other medications. The artist addressed the topic in the biography “Friends, Love and That Terrible Thing”, published in 2022. Authorities said no drugs were found at the actor’s crime scene.
