After a seven-week trial and five days of deliberations, former Finnish-Canadian fashion mogul Peter Nygard was found guilty of sexually assaulting four women on Sunday in Toronto, Canada. The jury also found him neither guilty of sexually assaulting one of the women who testified at the trial nor of false imprisonment. The sentence imposed on the Finnish-Canadian millionaire will be announced later.

The six charges against the 82-year-old former fashion boss involved four women and a 16-year-old girl for acts between 1988 and 2005. As he left the courthouse, Peter Nygard’s lawyer, Brian Greenspan, did not rule out the possibility of an appeal.

In addition to the Toronto trial, the former designer is scheduled to face trial on similar charges in two other Canadian provinces, Quebec and Manitoba. He is also expected to be extradited to the United States, where he faces particular charges of extortion and sex trafficking for acts dating from 1990 to 2020.
