‘SNL’: Timothée Chalamet Channels Troye Sivan and Previews ‘Wonka’
“Dune” actor Timothée Chalamet returned to “Saturday Night Live” after the end of the SAG strike to promote his upcoming film “Wonka.”
Timothée Chalamet made a splash as host of NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” for the second time.
The 27-year-old actor emphasized his musical background during the opening monologue to promote his upcoming films after the SAG-AFTRA strike ends.
“It’s my second time hosting ‘Saturday Night Live,’ but in many ways it feels like the first time. Because the last time was during the Corona period and that was just weird. I wore a mask all week – I don’t think so.” “Lorne Michaels knew who I was; he kept calling me ‘Winona,'” Chalamet joked at the start of his monologue. “But I’m lucky enough to be able to host after the SAG strike ends.”
Things took a musical turn when Chalamet began singing to draw attention to his projects.
“My new film ‘Wonka’ will be in cinemas on December 15th. Fandango.com, cue ‘Damn, Hugh Grant has that Oompa Loompa dump truck,'” the Oscar-nominated star cooed. “If you want to see a three-and-a-half hour movie, watch ‘Flowers of the Killer Moon.'” Or just wait for Part 2 of “Dune” and make sure you go to the bathroom first.

Chalamet switched gears on the advice of “SNL” cast member Marcello Hernández, channeling his high school alter ego Timmy Tim for a rap dedicated to the other “babyfaces.”
“I have the face of a young man, but the body of a guy. So hide your wife, hide your grandma too,” the actor rapped.
The lyrics became increasingly explicit as the duo noted that they were baby-faced and also a “bad guy.”

Kenan Thompson interrupted to comment that he also has a more youthful appearance since his sketch comedy days at Nickelodeon.
“I’ve had this face since ‘Kenan & Kel,’ I’m aging like a vampire, I’m aging like Pharrell,” Thompson rapped. “All my life I was a sweet guy on TV. They think I’m 19, but I’m actually 63!”

However, on Sunday, people reacted on social media to an “SNL” joke that referenced the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas.
“SNL and Timothée Chalamet drop Hamas jokes while a war that has cost the lives of more than 4,000 children is abhorrent.” one X user tweeted.
In Chalamet’s Please Don’t Destroy sketch, the character plays an aspiring musician who wants to end his life. “There has to be someone or something that you care about,” John Higgins, a member of the comedy group, says to Chalamet’s character. “I guess. It’s my music,” Chalamet replies.
After Chalamet’s character plays the group a song, they aren’t entirely impressed. Still, he asks, “Are you going to share it on Instagram?”
The group agrees and asks Chalamet for his Instagram username. “It’s Hamas, Hamas,” he replies.
“Yeah dude, I don’t share a Hamas song on Instagram,” says Please Don’t Destroy’s Martin Herlihy.
