Samantha Fox caused a surprise on Sunday when she came to sing her success Touch me (I want your body) on the set of Masked singersplaced under the theme of the 1980s. Stéphane Rousseau had a wonderful moment with the English singer hanging on one of the walls of his boyhood bedroom.
Samantha Fox met backstage after her performance and was excited to be part of the show, which she is keenly following in England. “It’s a very popular franchise,” she said. I was supposed to take part in the show in Spain, I was happy to be able to wear a costume, but COVID-19 came.
When she received the offer to take part in the Quebec version, she accepted immediately. “It’s also great to be back in Montreal, it’s a city close to my heart. I love the mix of cultures, it’s very similar to London in some aspects. I come from a multicultural society. I went to school with people of Greek, Italian, Indian, etc. heritage, so it feels like home here.”
Happy memories
Samantha Fox, who became a global star in the mid-1980s, has fond memories of this time.
“It was a lot of traveling, but it was my childhood dream. When I was little, I drew boats and dreamed about the voyages of Christopher Columbus. I always dreamed of traveling, but it’s true that I only stopped for a day or two in each city. Fortunately, I was able to return to several countries to visit in more detail.”
She also returned to the image that stuck in her mind through the lyrics of her song “Touch Me (I Want Your Body).”
“I think, first of all, this song has touched people all over the world because even if you don’t know English well, everyone understands Kiss me, Touch me, Love me. Many have called this song sexy or disgusting, but I disagree. With my jeans and leather jacket, I didn’t sweat as much during sex as the Spice Girls did back then. People might have thought I was naughty or revealing, but I just need love.”
Projects
In addition to releasing a new album, which is already ready, the English star is preparing several related projects for the coming months. “I’m going to produce a docu-reality where we follow me in my daily life, and then we’re going to make a feature film about my life. It will first be broadcast on a major channel and then on Netflix.
At the same time, the singer is preparing an autobiography in which she will speak very openly. “I will talk about the ups and downs of life. My life is a fairy tale, my fate may not be ordinary, but my feelings are the same as everyone else’s.
