Anthony Hopkins, 85, shares his “Sunday spirit” and dances in the kitchen while preparing Italian food

He is one of Britain’s best-known and most prolific actors, known for his captivating performances on stage and screen over seven decades.

But on Sunday, while making a splash in his kitchen, Sir Anthony Hopkins showed the lighter side of his personality by dancing a little rumba in a video shared on his TikTok and Instagram pages.

Standing between his chrome stove and the kitchen island, the Welsh actor launched straight into his animated version, his hands and arms snaking along at about chest height as he moved his body to the left.

He seemed to be very focused on the beat, groove and lyrics of Mambo Italiano, considering he had his eyes closed at times while the music and lyrics seemed to wash over him during his dance.

After walking along to the music to his left, the two-time Oscar winner, 85, reversed direction as he reached his oven and then danced a few steps to the right while appearing to mouth some of the song’s lyrics.

It looks like Hopkins has started preparing and cooking an Italian dish, judging by how some of the ingredients look on the kitchen island.

The man who killed serial killer and cannibal Dr. Dr. three times in his illustrious career. Hannibal Lecter played, felt the mood of the moments, the compliments of the smells and aroma in the air and decided to play the classic melody.

At the beginning of the clip, the male crooner can be heard singing, “Try an enchilada with a fish baccala, hey Goomba, I love the way you dance the rumba,” as he continued to go through his moves.

Dressed casually in black sweatpants and a matching top, the four-time BAFTA winner beamed towards the end of his exhibition, then looked directly into the camera and began to exit the kitchen.

“Hey Goomba, do you like the way I dance the rumba…?” “Sunday mood,” Sir Anthony, who was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in 1993 for his services to drama, wrote in the caption.

It seems his dance-in-the-kitchen antics were a huge hit with many of his social media fans and followers, considering all the positive comments the clip garnered.

“I love you” along with “The best actor in the world” and “That made my heart smile” seemed to sum up many of the people who commented on the dance video.

While many admirers shared just a few simple words about how overjoyed they were to see him, some of his 3.2 million TikTok followers also made a suggestion or two.

It seems like Hopkins was spot on with his decision to play the tune while cooking Italian dishes.

In his clip, there is some pasta on the counter and a bottle of what appears to be olive oil, a staple of Italian cuisine.
