The United States says it carried out attacks in Syria on websites linked to Iran

According to the US Secretary of Defense, these attacks were carried out against two Iran-linked sites in response to attacks on American personnel in Iraq and Syria.

The United States launched strikes in Syria against two Iran-linked sites on Sunday in response to attacks on American personnel in the region, US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said.

“U.S. forces today conducted precision strikes on facilities in eastern Syria used by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and Iran-affiliated groups in response to attacks. Attacks on U.S. personnel in Iraq and Syria continued,” Lloyd Austin said in a statement.

“The attacks were carried out respectively against a training center and a protected residence near the towns of Albu Kamal and Mayadeen,” he said.

Third operation

This is the third time in less than three weeks that the US military has struck targets in Syria that it claims are linked to Iran, which supports various armed groups that Washington accuses of being behind an increase in attacks on his forces in the Middle East.

The United States targeted a Tehran-linked weapons depot in Syria on Wednesday, and on Oct. 26 the U.S. military struck two other facilities in Syria that were allegedly used by Iran and foreign-linked organizations.

These attacks are being carried out by Washington in response to the increasing attacks by pro-Iranian groups on its army in Syria and Iraq (more than 45 since October 17) in connection with the war between Israel and Hamas, the United States after he had supported Israel militarily against Hamas.
