If we treated ourselves to a Noir snack, we had a classic Western for dinner. Although it is said that King Vidor directed it, it is actually the work of producer David O. Selznick (King Vidor stepped down and was replaced by William Dieterle), who was obsessed with making his wife Jennifer Jones look beautiful . All in all, a wonderful film full of overwhelming love and miscegenation. Cinephile curiosity: With this western, one of the greats of quiet Hollywood, Lillian Gish, achieved her first and only Oscar nomination.

No matter which season they air (in this case, episodes 19 and 20 of season 23), Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, a hypnotic series by Dick Wolf, is always exciting. Crazy plots? TRUE. Crimes too terrible? Also true. But the framework is supported by the New York exterior, by the great Mariska Hargitay (great charisma and acting talent) and by the excellent episodic actors who make every character believable.
