Man invades stage and interrupts Greta Thunberg’s speech

Incident occurred in Amsterdam; The protester argued that the act had become political after speeches in favor of Palestine

On Sunday (November 12, 2023), a man burst onto the stage of a climate rally in Amsterdam, Netherlands and interrupted activist Greta Thunberg’s speech. The protester’s complaint was political in nature after speaking out in favor of Palestine.

“I came here for a climate demonstration, not for a political vision,” the man said. He was escorted off stage and the activist sang the phrase “There is no climate justice in occupied territories” in the chorus. Watch the moment:

According to Portal, before the invasion, Greta had given the floor to a Palestinian activist whose previous speech was interrupted by organizers with the phrase “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.”

Local police said around 70,000 people were present at the event, according to the news agency. Among them is Frans Timmermans, who will lead the Labor and Green parties in the next Dutch general election on November 22nd.
