Gospel singer Bobbi Storm almost canceled Delta flight because she refused to stop singing

Grammy-nominated gospel singer Bobbi Storm was nearly kicked off a Delta Air Lines flight when she refused to stop singing to her fellow passengers.

A clip posted to her Instagram on Saturday shows Storm standing in the aircraft’s aisle and singing when she is approached by a Delta crew member who instructs her to sit down and “be quiet.”

In her seat, Storm tells her fellow passengers that she has sung on other flights and has also been nominated for two Grammys – statements that are met with some applause.

Storm is part of the gospel group Maverick City Music, which received nominations for Best Gospel Album and Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song at the 2024 Grammy Awards.

Storm responds by saying, “I do what the Lord tells me,” but the crew member, claiming he is the flight director, tells her that she cannot stay on the flight otherwise she will not follow his orders.

Storm appears to concede, but as the crew member walks away, she tells fellow passengers that she will “sing it in silence” and continues singing the song anyway.

“Delta has been in contact with the customer,” a Delta spokesperson told CBS News. “For the safety of our customers and our crew, it is always important to follow the crew’s instructions.”

In a follow-up video, Storm said that Delta leaders reached out to her and that she didn’t break any rules — she was just “spreading joy.”

Storm added that she didn’t want the crew member to be reprimanded or lose his job.

“I just want us to be clear about how we treat each other,” she said.
