Boxing: A World Champion Joins Eye of the Tiger

Eye of the Tiger Management (EOTTM) made a nice catch by adding International Boxing Organization (WBO) 168-pound world champion Osleys Iglesias to its boxing stable on Tuesday.

The Cuban won his belt last year by knocking out Andrii Velikovskyi. in the 10th round. Since his professional debut in 2019, he has risen to 14th place worldwide in his category in the Boxrec location rankings. In the amateur ranks, Iglesias accumulated 184 wins in 200 fights after competing at middleweight.

“With just nine fights, Iglesias is already IBO World Champion and has taken on veteran Isaac Chilemba. Although he is still very young, he has already beaten, among others, the current WBA champion David Morell. He is left-handed, powerful and has excellent technique. “Iglesias has all the tools to reach the top of the super middleweight division,” Marc Ramsay, director of development and recruiting at EOTTM, said in a statement.

“It was unthinkable to miss out on a talent like Iglesias, so we seized the opportunity. “He is a complete boxer who excelled in the amateur ranks and who continues his devastation among the professionals as he is already an IBO champion at just 25 years old,” added EOTTM President Camille Estephan. It is also a strategic decision [Christian] Mbilli, [Erik] Bazinyan and now Iglesias at the top, this allows us to position ourselves solidly at 168 pounds to capture the titles currently held by Canelo Alvarez.

The latter won his last three duels, including the one against Jermell Charlo on September 30, by unanimous decision.
