Canadian PM calls on Israel to stop ‘killing babies’
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said Tuesday that the killing of “women, children and babies” in the Israel-Hamas war must stop, prompting a sharp rebuke from Israeli leader Benjamin Netanyahu.
Trudeau said at an event in British Columbia:
The world is watching, on television, on social media, we are hearing the testimonies of doctors, family members, survivors and children who have lost their parents.
The world is witnessing this killing of women, children and babies. That has to stop.
Netanyahu responded to Trudeau’s criticism, writing on X:
It is not Israel that is deliberately targeting civilians, but Hamas that has beheaded, burned and massacred civilians – the worst atrocities committed against Jews since the Holocaust. While Israel does everything to protect civilians from danger, Hamas does everything to protect them from danger.
Netanyahu said it was Hamas, not Israel, that should be held accountable.
Red Cross says it is “extremely concerned” about Gaza hospital raid
The Red Cross expressed concern on Wednesday about military activity at the Gaza Strip’s largest hospital, which was entered by Israeli forces who say they are pursuing a Hamas command center.
“We are extremely concerned about the impact on sick and wounded people, medical personnel and civilians,” the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) said in a statement sent to AFP, stressing that “all measures must be taken to avoid consequences for to avoid them.
The first tanker truck arrives in the Gaza Strip from Egypt, the first such delivery since the start of the war
Now there are more details on the news that a fuel truck crossed the Rafah border into Gaza today – the first such shipment since the war between Israel and Hamas began on October 7.
- An Egyptian source told the state-affiliated news agency Al Qahera News that the fuel would be delivered to the United Nations “to facilitate the delivery of aid after trucks on the Palestinian side stopped operating due to a lack of fuel.”
- COGAT, the Israeli Defense Ministry responsible for Palestinian civil affairs, had previously stated that “UN trucks carrying humanitarian aid through the Rafah border crossing will be refueled at the Rafah border crossing at the request of the US.”
- Witnesses at the Egyptian border said two more trucks were waiting to pass through the border crossing.

UN humanitarian chief condemns Israeli attack on Al-Shifa hospital, says he is ‘horrified’
“Stop this horror,” demands the head of UNICEF
The United Nations Children’s Fund said its top official visited the Gaza Strip early Wednesday and met with children and their families at Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis, in the south of the territory.
“What I saw and heard was devastating.” “They endured repeated bombings, casualties and displacement,” said UNICEF Executive Director Catherine Russell. “Within Gaza, there is no safe place for the one million children in Gaza to go.”
She added: “The parties to the conflict are committing serious violations against children; These include killings, maimings, kidnappings, attacks on schools and hospitals, and denial of humanitarian access – all of which UNICEF condemns.
“I am here to do everything I can to advocate for the protection of children.” I once again call on all parties to ensure that children are protected and supported in accordance with international humanitarian law. Only the parties to the conflict can really stop this horror.”
Breaking news: First tanker truck enters Gaza from Egypt: Egyptian media
According to Egyptian media, the first tanker truck from Egypt entered the Gaza Strip via the Rafah border.
- This came after Israeli defense officials said they had agreed to allow fuel shipments to the Gaza Strip for humanitarian operations.
- It is the first time Israel has allowed fuel into the besieged area since the Hamas group’s bloody cross-border invasion on October 7.
- Israel declared war after the attack and banned fuel shipments, saying Hamas was diverting supplies for military use. But fuel is crucial to running Gaza’s hospitals, which run on generators, and the shortage has prevented the United Nations from providing humanitarian aid.
This is a breaking news update, more details to come…
GRAPHIC: IDF prepares to storm Hamas terror tunnels where terrorists lie in wait
Israeli forces are now massed near the gates of Gaza City’s main hospital, ready to storm the maze of tunnels they say is beneath the medical center where Hamas terrorists lie in wait.
Their goal is to penetrate the 300-mile network of tunnels beneath Al-Shifa Hospital and Gaza City as a whole and destroy the terrorists who rampaged through Israel and slaughtered 1,200 Israelis.
But this is not an easy task. Underground fighting is notoriously deadly work, especially when Israeli soldiers fight heavily armed Hamas terrorists who know every hiding place and have access to a stockpile of rockets, grenades and weapons.
The terrorists have been operating for years in the complex network of reinforced tunnels beneath civilian buildings, some up to 40 feet underground, all of which could be hiding an ambush, booby-trapped or, worse, filled with explosives and ready to collapse.
This means that the Israeli military must rely on a variety of technologies and weapons – such as “killer drones”, attack dogs and “sponge bombs” – to help its soldiers “destroy” the terrorists deep in the tunnels.

Witnesses describe Israeli soldiers entering the largest hospital in the Gaza Strip
Israeli forces raided Gaza’s largest hospital on Wednesday, targeting what they said was a Hamas command center in tunnels among thousands of patients and civilians seeking refuge from intense fighting.
- Dozens of Israeli soldiers, some wearing face masks and firing in the air, urged young men to surrender, a journalist in touch with AFP said, as the army reported it had a “precise and targeted” operation at the facility carried out.
- Youssef Abu Rish, an official with the Hamas-run health ministry who was at the hospital, told AFP he could see tanks inside the complex and “dozens of soldiers and commandos in the emergency and reception buildings.”
- The Israeli army described it as “a precise and targeted operation against Hamas in a specific area” of the facility. The Palestinian militants have repeatedly denied hiding a base at the hospital.
- After strong warnings from the United States and others that Al-Shifa needed to be protected, Israel said the raid was carried out due to “an operational necessity.”
Doctors trapped in Al-Shifa Hospital describe a “terrible” situation for trapped patients
Israeli tanks rolled into the al-Shifa hospital compound while dozens of soldiers stormed buildings including the emergency room and surgery that house intensive care units as patients screamed in fear as part of their mission to track down the terrorists, those trapped inside said Paramedic.
Mohammed Zaqout, the director of Gaza’s hospitals, said patients trapped in the medical facility were terrified after seeing heavily armed soldiers storming the hospital in the early hours of the morning.
“They’re screaming, it’s a very terrible situation.” “We can’t do anything but pray,” Zaquot said.
Israeli soldiers storm Al-Shifa hospital in Gaza in ‘targeted operation’
Israeli soldiers have stormed Gaza City’s main hospital to track down Hamas terrorists who US intelligence says are hiding in an underground command center, while Palestinian authorities have called for a ceasefire to evacuate trapped civilians.
The Israeli military entered the sprawling Al-Shifa hospital early Wednesday morning and carried out a “precise and targeted operation against Hamas in a specific area of the facility,” the IDF said, in what could be a pivotal moment in the bloody war.
Israeli soldiers and tanks had in recent days surrounded the hospital, where the IDF and the US have insisted that Hamas is hiding in underground tunnels beneath the building and using patients as human shields – claims the terrorists deny.
But the storming of the hospital is a key moment in the war and will show once and for all whether Hamas terrorists have actually stationed their secret headquarters beneath the hospital, using the weakest civilians as human shields.
