The Israeli army urged civilians in several neighborhoods in Gaza City to leave their homes. Residents of the affected neighborhoods should flee to “the humanitarian zone” in the south of the coastal strip for their own safety, an army spokesperson wrote in Arabic on Twitter (X). He also mentioned the Jabalia refugee district. He also published a map with the escape route plotted.
Brief pause in the struggle to escape
The spokesman also named two neighborhoods in Gaza City where there should be a humanitarian pause in fighting during the day. Residents were supposed to use them to escape south. All civilians who were prevented from fleeing by the terrorist organization Hamas could contact the Israeli army by phone or through the Telegram platform, he said.
For weeks, Israel has been calling on civilians in Gaza City and the north to move south of the isolated coastal strip for their own safety. But there were also several Israeli air strikes in the southern part of the Gaza Strip.
