A 5yearold girl who died in 1988 hiding under concrete was identified by police last Monday the 13th Massachusettsus US.
After 35 years, American authorities now know that the child encased in concrete and abandoned in a wooded area in rural southeast Georgia was still small Kenyatta Odom. Information comes from The New York Times.
Kenyatta Odom’s death and identity have been a mystery for years. DNA testing began years ago, but it wasn’t until a tip received in January that the girl was identified.
The reason or how Kenyatta’s death occurred was not stated. The only information is that the child died after his feet and legs were immersed in hot water. The child’s mother and her boyfriend were charged with murder.
Kenyatta’s body was found in 1988 in an old television cabinet, wrapped in a blanket, placed in a backpack and then surrounded by concrete, at an illegal landfill in Millwood, Ware County, Georgia.
Evelyn Odom, 56, Kenyatta’s mother, and Ulyster Sanders, her thenboyfriend, were arrested last Thursday the 9th. A grand jury in Dougherty County, which includes Albany, indicted her on charges of aggravated murder, firstdegree cruelty to children, concealment of a corpse and other crimes.
