Wayne Gretzky told a tasty anecdote on TNT television on Wednesday evening.
“The Wonder” described the time he was taunted by a child during a visit with his son to the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto.
After Gretzky saw that his offspring managed to hit the target four times in five attempts, he tried one after the other, but with significantly less success. After three unsuccessful attempts, a young man, who didn’t know he was talking to Gretzky because he wore a cap and sunglasses to avoid being recognized, gave him advice on how to get better.
“I was so angry that I told my son, ‘Come on, let’s get out of here!’” recalled the leading scorer in National Hockey League history (894).
