UN says last flour factory in Gaza ‘attacked and destroyed’
According to a United Nations agency, the last flour mill in Gaza was hit and destroyed.
The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said the As Salam factory in Deir al Balah was reportedly hit on Tuesday.
“This was the last operational flour mill in Gaza, and its destruction means that locally produced flour will no longer be available in the near future,” the agency said in its latest bulletin.

According to the UN, only one of 24 hospitals in the north of the Gaza Strip is still in operation
In its daily bulletin, the OCHA (Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs) reports that of the 24 hospitals in the northern Gaza Strip, only one is still operational and continues to receive patients. This is Al-Ahli Hospital in Gaza City.
“Eighteen hospitals have been closed and evacuated since hostilities began, including three – An Nasr, Ar Rantisi and Al Quds – in the last three days,” the UN writes.

The Israeli army claims to have attacked the residence of the political leader of Hamas
The Israeli army said its warplanes attacked the Gaza home of Ismail Haniyeh, head of Hamas’ political bureau.
He has been the political leader of Hamas since 2017, but operates out of Qatar. The Israeli army assures that their accommodation “was used as terrorist infrastructure and often served as a meeting point for senior Hamas leaders.”

Israeli police say they have “neutralized” three attackers after a “shootout” near a security checkpoint linking Jerusalem to the occupied West Bank. Israeli emergency services reported “four gunshot wounds,” including “one in critical condition.”

Israeli opposition leader calls for Benjamin Netanyahu to resign
Israeli opposition leader Yair Lapid called for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to leave without waiting for the end of the military operation in the Gaza Strip.
“We cannot afford to wage a long campaign (military, editor’s note) with a prime minister in whom the population no longer trusts,” he explained.
Yair Lapid accused the Netanyahu government of an “unforgivable failure” for failing to prevent the October 7 Hamas attacks.

The Israeli president says Israel cannot “leave a gap” in Gaza.
Israeli President Isaac Herzog said Israel must not leave a vacuum in the Gaza Strip and must maintain a significant force there in the short term to prevent a reemergence of Hamas in the Palestinian enclave.
“If we withdraw, who will take over? We cannot leave a vacuum. We have to think about what the mechanism will be; there are a lot of ideas being floated,” said Isaac Herzog in an interview with Financial Times.
“But no one will want to turn this place, Gaza, into a terrorist base again,” he added.

A violent pro-Palestinian demonstration outside the Democratic Party headquarters in Washington
Clashes broke out between dozens of pro-Palestinian protesters and police outside the Democratic Party headquarters in Washington on Wednesday evening, leading to the closure of nearby US Congressional offices.
“Our officers are working to contain approximately 150 individuals demonstrating illegally and violently” near the party offices, Capitol Police said in a message on X (formerly Twitter).
“Officers are making arrests,” added police, who reported six injured people in their ranks who were treated for “minor cuts” and even “beatings.”
Elected officials who were in the Democratic National Committee (DNC) offices at the time were escorted from the building by police to safety. Demonstrators are calling for a ceasefire and an end to the Israeli military operation in the Gaza Strip.

The Israeli army has “no news” of Hamas hostages
“There are already 239 hostages in the hands of Hamas, we have no news of them,” Israeli army spokesman Olivier Rafowicz said on BFMTV.
The IDF spokesman condemned the “game” that Hamas is playing and the “psychological war” it is waging against Israel, particularly by broadcasting videos showing hostages.

Qatar calls for an “international investigation” into Israeli raids on hospitals in Gaza
Qatar on Wednesday called for an “international investigation” into Israeli military operations against hospitals in the Gaza Strip and condemned today’s raid on Al-Chifa Hospital as a “war crime.”
In a statement, the State Department “strongly condemned” the raid against al-Chifa in Gaza, denouncing it as a “war crime and blatant violation of international laws and agreements.”

Israeli army operation at al-Shifa hospital in Gaza
On the night of Wednesday to Thursday, the Israeli army announced that it was carrying out another operation at al-Shifa hospital. The Hamas government’s health ministry reported that Israeli bulldozers were at this hospital complex, where, according to the UN, there are around 2,300 people, including patients, nurses and displaced people.
