Disappearance of Jessy Duchesneau: Her family has not lost hope –

Almost two weeks after the disappearance of Jessy Duchesneau, those close to the 19-year-old young man still hope to find him alive, while dozens of people are still roaming the city in search of him.

“This whole story is heartbreaking for us, but especially for Jessy’s parents. They still have hope of finding their boy alive,” said Ariane Duchesneau, the young man’s cousin.

Jessy Duchesneau has not been seen since his performance at the Midnight Blue Bar on the night of November 3-4. Relatives and people who were near him during the evening assume that he may have been drugged without his knowledge because of his strange behavior.

Cameras tracked his movements around 2:15 a.m. in the Saint-Joseph district and then at 3 a.m. at the corner of Caron and Dorchester streets. About 20 minutes later, he was seen jogging on the corner of du Pont and du Prince-Édouard streets. He is seen for the last time on surveillance video at around 4:40 a.m. as he leaves the underground car park on Rue Monseigneur-Gauvreau.

A phone that belonged to him was also found there last Thursday. But according to relatives, the authorities have still not managed to gain access to it.

“We hold on to what we can, we just can’t give up,” Ms. Duchesneau said.

An excess of generosity

The Quebec City Police Service (SPVQ) notes that there have been no new developments in this matter since the device was discovered.

The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) and the Coast Guard searched in vain for the young man in the waters of the Saint-Charles River and the Saint-Laurent River in recent days.

Despite everything, dozens of volunteers, friends and family members of Jessy Duchesneau take turns every day to distribute her photo and search the areas of Saint-Roch, Saint-Jean-Baptiste and Old Quebec.

“People are attached to him, we have a lot of inquiries from people asking us whether there is still research and whether they can join in,” emphasizes the cousin of the young man from Gaspésie.

“We really feel a huge outpouring of generosity,” she adds.

Anyone who sees Jessy Duchesneau is asked to call 911 for immediate intervention or 418 614-2447 to provide information that will be treated as confidential.
