Royal staff are said to be “furious” over shocking revelations about the conflict between Prince Harry and his brother, Prince William.

Omid Scobie’s new book, Endgame: Inside the Royal Family and the Monarchy’s Fight for Survival, out November 28, details how Harry and William, heir to the throne, fell out when their late grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, their final took breaths.

Palace insiders refuted Scobie’s claims that William “ignored” his brother’s frantic calls as he rushed to the Queen’s bedside at Balmoral last September.

“No matter what happens behind closed doors, even at a time of such great pain and suffering, it seems that one day it will come out into the open when it comes to the royal family,” a royal insider told the Mirror.

“Nothing is off limits as William and Kate seem to be this author’s main target. It only takes a few months for the knives to appear again and the wounds to be opened.”

In an extract from his book, Scobie claims that Harry was “kept in the dark” about the Queen’s health in the hours before her death – a claim royal courtiers have reportedly rejected.

“Harry texted his brother asking how he and Kate were going to get to Scotland and if they could travel together. No response,” Scobie wrote. “William ignored him. He obviously didn’t want to see his brother.”

Scobie, who boasts of a professional friendship with Meghan Markle, claimed there was “no evidence” that Charles called his son in the Queen’s final moments, as previously believed.

Scobie, who previously published a biography of the Sussexes called Finding Freedom, said Harry, 39, and Meghan, 42, had “no idea” that the royals were preparing for Her Majesty’s death last year.

“The next morning, the Sussexes had no idea that Buckingham Palace was already planning the Queen’s final hours and the first days of the monarchy’s new era – until the Duke’s phone started ringing. An unknown number. He usually ignored them,” Scobie wrote.

The author said the Sussexes, who got their own flights to Balmoral, learned of the Queen’s death through a mid-flight public announcement.

“The palace claimed that Charles tried to call Harry (sources later told me there was never any evidence of this),” he wrote.

The book states that Meghan told Harry to pick up the phone, but just as he was about to answer the incoming call, it “stopped” ringing.

“Harry hadn’t spoken to his father much that year, but this was not the time for tension between father and son,” Scobie wrote. “Charles told him that he and Camilla were leaving Dumfries House for Balmoral, where Princess Anne was already at the Queen’s side.”

“He told Harry to head to Scotland straight away,” he added.

The Post has contacted Buckingham Palace and Kensington Palace for comment.
