The rivalry between PK Subban and Brad Marchand is still alive

Even though he retired from professional hockey at the end of the 2021-2022 season, former defenseman PK Subban has not forgotten his great rival from the Boston Bruins, Brad Marchand.

The former Montreal Canadiens fullback, now a television analyst for the ESPN network, turned his attention to Tuesday’s game between the Massachusetts team and the Buffalo Sabers and saw Rasmus Dahlin deliver a solid chess effort to the Bruins’ little pest along the strip at the beginning of the first period.

His reaction on social networks the next day was also clear: “I like it,” he simply wrote on his X account and passed on the sequence in question.

Some observers were able to make a connection between this game and the highly publicized collision that occurred during the game on December 16, 2010 at the Bell Center. That night, Marchand was happily skating with the puck when it skated into Subban’s butt, who was waiting for him near the blue line. The numerous arguments, including verbal ones, between the two men symbolized the intense rivalry that animated the Bruins and the Habs at the time.

As for Tuesday’s matchup, Dahlin’s shot couldn’t stop Boston from winning 5-2.
