Jenna Ortega returns to the set of Beetlejuice 2 following the end of the SAG-AFTRA strike – after director Tim Burton revealed the sequel was “99 percent” complete before the boycott

Jenna Ortega is back on the set of Beetlejuice 2 after SAG-AFTRA finally reached a tentative agreement with the studios after 118 days of picketing.

The 21-year-old actress was spotted filming a few final scenes as the film, which is the sequel to the 1988 film starring Michael Keaton, came to an end.

She wore a colorful but frayed knit dress, biker shorts, knee socks and boots. Her hair was styled in a fashionable half-up half-down look with curtain bangs.

Jenna, who plays Lydia Deetz’s daughter, was seen jogging down the street on a sleek Schwinn bike.

She was spotted on set in Boston, Massachusetts on Wednesday.

The sequel was nearing completion until the SAG-AFTRA strike halted production in July.

Director Tim Burton, who also directed the original, revealed that there was only a day and a half of filming left before the actors were ordered to stop performing.

“I’m grateful we got what we got,” he told The Independent. “It was literally a day and a half.” We know what we have to do. “It’s 99 percent complete.”

The highly anticipated sequel also returns Winona Ryder, who played Lydia Deetz, Keaton and director Tim Burton.

In the original Beetlejuice film, husband and wife Barbara (Geena Davis) and Adam Maitland (Alec Baldwin) died in a car accident while their ghosts haunted their former home.

In a desperate attempt to prevent the Deetzes from taking over their home and remodeling it, they call in the titular bio-exorcist (Keaton) to scare the family away.

The mischievous Beetlejuice then wreaks havoc on Charles (Jeffrey Jones) and Delia Deetz (Catherine O’Hara), as well as their daughter Lydia (Ryder) – the only one who can see the ghosts.

Since the release of the original film, there have been over three decades of thinking and trying to put together a sequel.

In the 1990s, the cult classic almost received an island-set sequel called Beetlejuice Goes Hawaiian.

However, the project was eventually shelved as Tim and Michael focused their efforts on the famous 1992 action-adventure film Batman Returns.

Another project almost came to fruition in the mid-2000s, and Michael and Winona were both expected to return for the sequel.

However, due to constant delays and scheduling conflicts involving Burton, the project was inevitably put on hold again in 2019.

Due to critical acclaim and commercial success, Beetlejuice was adapted into an animated series that ran in the late 1980s and early 1990s.

In 2018, the horror comedy was developed into a musical, which is still occasionally performed on Broadway today.
