9 Brazilian restaurants are among the 100 best in Latin America

The event’s program is 50 Best’s #50BestTalks thought leadership panel, which brings together some of the world’s most renowned chefs each year.

Other awards to be announced at the ceremony include the Estrella Damm Chefs’ Choice Award, the Gin Mare Art of Hospitality Award, the Best Pastry Chef in Latin America Award sponsored by República del Cacao and the Beronia Latin America’s Best Sommelier Award .

The Academy of Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants consists of more than 300 members from the region. The Academy’s votes determine the list of the 50 best restaurants in Latin America.

The Academy is divided into five regions: Mexico, Central America, Brazil and South America, divided into two regions, the northernmost and the southernmost. Voters in each region include journalists, food critics, chefs, restaurateurs and foodies with extensive travel experience.

In 2023, each member cast 10 votes, presenting what they believe to be their best dining experiences of the last 18 months. At least four of these votes must mention restaurants outside of their home country (Academy members who were unable to travel internationally only cast the six votes for restaurants in their home countries).
