Detroit Red Wings forward David Perron scored a special goal against the Ottawa Senators in Sweden on Thursday.
Perron was touched by the death of Cowboys Fringants singer Karl Tremblay and decided to write the singer’s initials “KT” on his stick before the game.
As fate would have it, defender Olli Maatta’s shot deflected off Perron’s glove and the letters “KT” on his stick before finding its way into the opponents’ net.
“I never do this, but Karl had such an influence on my youth that during my game today I decided to write the initials KT on my racket,” Perron explained on the X Network.
“The puck rose like a shooting star before it entered the goal. Life is well done, it gives you goosebumps!”
During my goal, the puck bounced off my glove/stick leaving an imprint on my stick about half an inch near where I had written “KT” and the puck rose like a shooting star before hitting the goal entered. Life is good, it gives you goosebumps! https://t.co/ON1Z5sscns
