Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Moscow was trying to sow division in Ukrainian society by creating “chaos” in the country to overthrow the president. This was reported by the Ukrainian agency “Ukrinform”. “Our intelligence service has information that also comes from our partners,” Zelensky said, outlining a disinformation plan called “Maidan 3,” a reference to Kiev’s central square that was the focus of unrest in 2004 and 2014. The latter played a major role in the overthrow of Russian-backed President Viktor Yanukovych. “For them, the Maidan is a coup, so the operation is understandable,” Zelensky said. Ukraine’s president, who has rejected negotiations with Putin, said the Kiev government would not support something that “resembles a frozen conflict.”
