Nov 18 (Portal) – Elon Musk threatened on Saturday to sue media watchdog Media Matters and those who use his social media platform

Numerous companies have stopped advertising in the past two days, including IBM, Disney, Warner Bros. Discovery and Comcast, Lions Gate Entertainment and Paramount Global. Axios reported that Apple, the world’s largest company by market value, would do the same.

Media Matters did not immediately respond to an email request seeking comment outside of business hours.
Musk has in the past threatened legal action against other parties, particularly the Anti-Defamation League, a nonprofit organization that combats anti-Semitism, blaming them for the loss of X’s advertising revenue. However, he has not yet sued the ADL.
Advertisers have abandoned the site since Musk bought it in October 2022 and reduced content moderation, which civil rights groups say has led to a sharp rise in hate speech.
The White House on Friday condemned Musk’s support of what it called a “vile” anti-Semitic conspiracy theory, accusing Musk of a “vile promotion of anti-Semitic and racist hatred” that “runs counter to our core values as Americans.”
Musk is also CEO of electric car maker Tesla (TSLA.O), which is hit by multiple lawsuits accusing him of rampant racial or sexual harassment of workers.
Anti-Semitism has increased in recent years in the United States and around the world. Following the outbreak of war between Israel and the Palestinian Islamist group Hamas, which attacked Israel on October 7, anti-Semitic incidents in the United States rose nearly 400% compared to the same period last year, the ADL said.
