The Quebec Remparts won 6-2 on Saturday at the Palais des Sports Léopold-Drolet, largely at the expense of the Sherbrooke Phoenix.
With the score 2-0 at the start of the third period, attacker Kassim Gaudet delivered an excellent feint against Phoenix defender Etienne Tremblay-Mathieu before beating goalkeeper Samuel St-Hilaire between the pads.

The latter also played a more than complicated game and allowed five goals on 32 shots. His counterpart at the other end of the ice, Canadian junior Quentin Miller from Montreal, failed to score a shutout as he conceded two goals at the end of the game. The 18-year-old made 25 saves on 27 shots.
For Eric Veilleux’s men, the party started quickly. Thanks to Daniel Agostino, they got on the scoreboard after 2 minutes and 57 seconds. The members of the Quebec club also managed to light up the red light twice on the power play, when Zachary Marquis-Laflamme and Xavier Lebel managed to deceive the vigilance of St-Hilaire.
Pier-Etienne Cloutier and Nathan Plamondon-Michaud were the Remparts’ other two scorers. Andrew Belchamber and Lewis Gendron replied for Sherbrooke.
Thanks to this success, Quebec posted a 9-13-0 performance, good for eighth place in the Eastern Association.
The Remparts host the Drummondville Voltigeurs on Tuesday at the Videotron Center.
