According to official sources, this Saturday (18), the eve of the second round of the presidential elections in Argentina, five people were arrested for threats against the government candidate, the Peronist Sergio Massa, and his family on various social networks.

The fifth and final arrest of a woman on the run in Salta province was confirmed by Interior Minister Aníbal Fernández in a social media reply message to Massa himself.

Another four people were arrested this Friday (17) in the city of Buenos Aires and in the provinces of Chaco and Córdoba, the state agency Télam reported.

“Thank you to everyone who wrote to us and was concerned about the threats we received,” Massa posted, along with a photo of his wife Malena Galmarini and their children, ages 17 and 21.

Massa will face the ultraright Javier Milei in the second round this Sunday, in the most controversial and polarized elections in 40 years of democracy.

On Friday evening, Milei received boos from many audience members at the opera performance she attended at the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires. As a result, theater director Jorge Telerman was “completely rejected”.

The threats against Massa follow previous threats denounced in court by, among others, the President of the Chamber of Deputies, Prime Minister Cecilia Moreau.

This doesn’t just apply to Argentina! Seven countries where the real is a strong currency

Argentina has been attracting Brazilian tourists for many years. The real is a stronger currency than the Argentine peso, so travel costs are much lower. The crisis in neighboring countries has made a trip to Buenos Aires even more interesting, and many people are choosing this destination for their first international trip. One point that has caught the attention of Brazilians and even caused jokes is the exchange rate for the peso. Each R$1 is converted into 46.58 pesos, that is, each value is multiplied by almost 50 and thus the bills in the wallets are multiplied. Anyone who crosses the country’s southern border is amazed at the amount of banknotes and finds it funny to become “rich” from one moment to the next. Other destinations have this effect of “multiplying” tourists’ money

The border with Paraguay is also one of the first crossed by Brazilians. The country, known for its cheaper imported products, also has a more devalued national currency. Currently, each R$ is worth 1,469.04 Paraguayan pesos. A Latin American country that is a little further away but has a favorable exchange rate for Brazilians is Colombia. Each R$ is worth 927.45 Colombian pesos. For those looking to visit a Caribbean island, the Dominican Republic could be a good option. Each R$1 is worth 11.07 Dominican pesos. Indonesia is a much more distant destination, and the plane ticket is not that cheap, but when you get off, every R$1 is exchanged for 180.47 Indonesian rupiahs. Cambodia is another country where the Brazilian currency multiplies quickly in the exchange office. Getting there is much more complicated than visiting the Casa Rosada or crossing the Friendship Bridge, but in the country each one is worth R$836.23 riel. India is known for being a more affordable country for travelers. The flight there can be very long and expensive, but each R$1 is worth 16.72 Indian rupees. If you want to see Europe but don’t want to spend in euros, you can choose to visit Hungary. Each R$1 real is worth 69.40 Hungarian guilders
