Ahead of this week’s Dynamite, AEW boss Tony Khan promised that “one of the best wrestlers in the world” would be signing with AEW at Full Gear. Over the next few days, as fans guessed names and debated whether the reveal would live up to the hype, AEW upped the ante. Heading to the PPV today (November 18th) it is became a “blockbuster signing”. Khan went from describing the person as “well-known + respected” to “ vocation she is a “huge star”.
Meanwhile, reports excluded a number of people – and one podcaster came forward with a name.
So who was it?
It was the way Andrew Zarian heard it. Will Ospreay is All Elite, bro!
Ospreay is still under contract with New Japan Pro-Wrestling for the next few months and he asked fans to let him finish the promotion that he has called home for years and that helped him become one of the most celebrated wrestlers in the world to move up to the world (he will face Jon Moxley and David Finlay at the Tokyo Dome on January 4th). But he will be here on the road to revolution in the spring and already has his sights set on a return to Wembley next August when All In returns to London.
Ospreay is said to be at the top of WWE’s wish list. Even if this isn’t “HUGE” for you, it is for Tony Khan and AEW.
