Australian idol singers have been ranked by their global popularity in data from streaming giant Spotify.
The show produced big hits, including Guy Sebastian and Anthony Callea, but the roster also had some surprises.
Spotify collected data from 2008 to the present, with 2007 Idol season runner-up Matt Corby taking the top spot.
Matt is the show’s most streamed artist worldwide, with 576 million streams thanks to hits “Brother” and “Resolution.”
It’s no surprise that second place was Guy Sebastian, who has enjoyed continued success in the charts since winning the first season of Idol.

As for Australia, it was Guy Sebastian who took the top spot with 275 million streams.
The Guy song “Coach” was the most streamed song by an idol star in Australia.
Corby’s Brother and Resolution took the next two spots. Sebastian received the fourth spit with his song Battle Scars.
The new edition of “Australian Idol” is well received by viewers.
In the new season of “Idol,” Kyle Sandilands, 52, and Amy Shark, 37, as well as Marcia Hines will sit in the judges’ chairs.
Fellow judges Harry Connick Jr. and Meghan Trainor will not be returning, leaving the jury with one less person.
An insider told Yahoo that part of the reason for revamping the series was to ensure that next year’s season would focus more on the music than the behind-the-scenes drama.
