Triple world champion Max Verstappen had no desire to set foot in Las Vegas for this new F1 adventure in the entertainment capital of the world anyway. To be honest, the opening ceremony on Wednesday evening didn’t convince him.
The dominant Red Bull driver “felt like a clown” at the drivers’ presentation on the stage of the brand new paddock.
“In my opinion we could avoid all of this. It’s not about the artists who delivered the show. But just standing there during the presentation makes you look like a clown,” said the Dutchman with 17 wins this season and 96 podiums in his career.
In Brazil he also announced that Formula 1 was only coming to Las Vegas for a “show”.
Amid the celebrations surrounding this third Grand Prix on American soil and this return to the entertainment capital, Verstappen is nevertheless aware of the commercial and marketing challenges of this new destination.

Sorry from F1
In addition, Formula 1 officials, led by Liberty Media boss Greg Maffei, apologized to the citizens and tourists of Las Vegas for all the nightmares they experienced in connection with the preparations for last year’s race.
“We are grateful that they tolerate us. We will bring about $1.7 billion in sales to this region. We hope this is beneficial for Las Vegas. This first edition is the most difficult to achieve from a design perspective. It will be easier in the future.”
