The Detroit Lions had a lot of fear, but they finally beat the Chicago Bears 31-26 at Ford Field on Sunday.
Running back David Montgomery chased his former team by scoring the game-winning touchdown on a one-yard run with 31 seconds left in the game. Two seconds later, a safety touchdown by the Lions (8:2) finally dashed their rivals’ hopes of a comeback.

The climb began while the dial still showed 3 minutes and 06 seconds. At that point, the Bears (3-8) had a comfortable 12-point lead, but Jameson Williams cut the lead to five points by catching a 32-yard pass from quarterback Jared Geoff.
The latter had not necessarily had the best performance of his career and was the victim of three interceptions. However, he scored two touchdown passes and converted 23 of his 35 attempts through the air, gaining 236 yards.
His counterpart, Justin Fields, was not only content to serve his receivers, he also managed to reach them 16 times on 23 attempts. In fact, the 24-year-old athlete also used his legs and racked up 104 yards on the ground.
The Lions host the Green Bay Packers on Thursday. The Bears, meanwhile, travel to Minnesota to take on the Vikings on November 27th.
The Browns on the sidelines
Although the game was tied with 2 seconds left, kicker Dustin Hopkins’ 34-yard field goal gave the Cleveland Browns (7:3) a 13:10 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers (6:4).
However, the most spectacular play of the game came at the start of the third quarter. Steelers player Jaylen Warren made a fantastic 74-yard run to get his team back into the game, cutting the deficit to 10-7 after Chris Boswell converted.
Warren finished the game with 129 yards on nine rushing attempts.
The two quarterbacks, Kenny Pickett and Dorian Thompson-Robinson, however, behaved more discreetly. First City only managed 106 yards through the air, while Second City had a slightly more successful game thanks to 24 completed passes out of 43.
Finally a win for the Giants
The New York Giants (3-8)’s last win was on October 22nd when they defeated the Washington Commanders (4-7) 14 to 7.
Because there is never a coincidence in life, Brian Daboll’s men beat the same team 31:19 on Sunday.
The final quarter of the game was the death knell for the Commanders, who conceded two touchdowns from the Giants, most notably on a 54-yard interception return by Logan Thomas. Saquon Barkley (twice) and Darius Slayton were the other two New York players to reach the Washington end zone.
Sam Howell and Jahan Dotson responded for the local favorites.
Tommy DiVito had a better game than he did against the Dallas Cowboys last week, but still suffered nine quarterback sacks. However, he recorded gains of 246 yards on 18 completions and three touchdown passes.
