The ultra-liberal economist Javier Milei was elected President of Argentina on Sunday November 19th after his great victory with more than 55% of the vote. “It’s a historic night for Argentina,” said the economist, a fan of Donald Trump. “The impoverished caste model is over, today we adopt the model of freedom to become a world power again,” added this “anti-system” personality.

“I’m very proud of her. You will change your country and make Argentina great again,” Donald Trump wrote on his social network Truth Social before the official results were published. Milei, who describes himself as an anarcho-capitalist, has repeatedly stated that he does not make “pacts with the communists.” “Congratulations to the Argentine people on Javier Milei’s victory. Hope shines again in South America,” commented former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro (2019-2022).

The United States “congratulates the elected President of Argentina, Javier Milei, on his victory,” said American diplomatic chief Antony Blinken, welcoming “the strong turnout and peaceful conduct of the vote.”
