A 16yearold teenager was arrested this Sunday morning (19) in the city of Buenos Aires and accused of stealing ballot papers from the table where he voted at a school in the Argentine capital. The news was confirmed by Federal Judge María Servini de Cubría in an interview with the channel La Nacion+.

She reported that ballots were stolen from the Libertarian Progress coalition led by libertarian Javier Milei, who faces Peronist Sergio Massa, the current economy minister, in the second round of Argentina’s presidential election.

In Argentina, the voting system is analogous: voters take the ballot paper of the coalition they want to vote for from a table and put it in an envelope, which is sealed and placed in the ballot box.

“We have known for several days that there is a shortage of ballot papers. Liberdade Avança promised that its inspectors will complete the missing ballots. “Providing the ballot papers is the responsibility of each party,” the judge said.

However, Servini ruled out the possibility of fraud as a result. “We have never received a report of fraud, it’s not that we don’t talk about the issue, but there has just never been a report in history.” They forced us to cast open ballots in the election [anteriormente]“Everything was opened and nothing else happened,” the judge said.
