The actor, who was born and raised in Vancouver, British Columbia, received the civilian award for his service at a private ceremony last Wednesday. The 47-year-old is one of 14 people inducted into the Order of British Columbia this year. This award recognizes people who “have given their best in the service of their community without expecting any reward,” according to a government press release.
The Free Guy actor shared a series of pictures from the ceremony on Instagram on Thursday. “Receiving the Order of British Columbia is the honor of a lifetime,” the actor wrote in the caption. In the caption, the Deadpool star thanked Premier David Eby and Lieutenant Governor Janet Austin, who presented him with the award on Wednesday. “I would also like to thank my three older brothers Patrick, Terry and Jeff and my mother Tammy…We are always there for each other no matter what.
