The Israeli military claims to have found a Hamas weapons cache and rocket production facility in the basement of a mosque in the Gaza Strip. The army announced this evening that soldiers had also discovered a tunnel entrance there. Video released by the army showed rockets, mortars, their components and the tunnel shaft in the basement of the building in the disputed city of Gaza.
The information could not be independently verified. The Israeli military has repeatedly accused Islamic Hamas of operating from civilian facilities and using civilians in the Gaza Strip as human shields.
The army also said soldiers destroyed a weapons factory belonging to the Islamic Jihad terrorist organization in the coastal area. They also reportedly took control of Hamas command centers in Gaza City. Tunnels have also been destroyed in recent days and many terrorists have been “eliminated”. Soldiers engaged in hand-to-hand combat with them.
