The original animatronic ET head and Michael Keaton’s complete Batman Returns suit will be auctioned off next month

Science fiction, fantasy and superhero fans with a little more money in their pockets will have the chance to take home some iconic genre items next month.

Julien’s Auctions will debut its Robots, Wizards, Heroes & Aliens: Contemporary Hollywood Auction from December 14th to 17th.

The centerpiece of the auction will be an original “Heroes” mechanical animatronic head used in the 1982 classic “ET The Extra-Terrestrial” by Carlo Rambaldi.

A fully animatronic ET model previously sold at Julien’s Auction for $2.5 million, with this original head expected to fetch between $800,000 and $1 million.

Items from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, DC Comics films, Harry Potter and much more will also go under the hammer.

One of the other top dollar items expected to fetch mid-six figures is the B-9 “The Robot” model from the iconic 1960s television series “Lost in Space.”

This is one of only two scale models of the robot made for the series’ three seasons, which is still functional and is one of the rarest artifacts from this period.

The model is expected to sell for between $300,000 and $500,000, one of the most expensive items offered at auction.

There will also be a number of Warner Bros. related items. 100th anniversary celebration including a costume worn in the film from 1992’s Batman Returns.

The suit worn by Michael Keaton in the Batman sequel is said to be “stunning and freshly restored” and is expected to fetch between $50,000 and $70,000.

Batman and Batman Returns director Tim Burton will also show a series of never-before-seen original paintings he created early in his career.

One of the paintings features Batman’s arch-nemesis Joker. The piece, titled “The Joker Steals Christmas,” is estimated at $60,000 to $80,000.

The gold-colored glasses worn by Harris will also be auctioned and are expected to sell for between $10,000 and $20,000.

The Star Wars galaxy will also be represented with lightsabers from Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace.

The double-bladed lightsaber used by Darth Maul (Ray Park) is estimated to fetch between $40,000 and $60,000, while Ewan McGregor’s Obi-Wan Kenobi and Liam Neeson’s Qui-Gon Jinn lightsabers are expected to fetch $25,000 to $35,000.

A bowcaster used by Chewbacca in the iconic film series is also up for auction, but no estimate has been given.

Superhero fans can take home some iconic items from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
