Ice hockey player Yannic Seidenberg, who won silver with Germany at the 2018 Olympics, was banned for four years for doping.
The country’s sports arbitration court made its decision on Tuesday at the request of the World Anti-Doping Agency, the daily newspaper Der Tagesspiegel reported. The 39-year-old Seidenberg is still under contract with EHC Munich, although he did not play in the 2022/23 season due to a temporary suspension.

During a routine examination, an abnormal testosterone concentration was detected in one of the samples provided by the wingman. He was also alleged to have used Prasterone (DHEA), an anabolic steroid banned by the international community.
Seidenberg is said to have repeatedly protested his innocence and pointed out that his doctor had prescribed these medications.
The suspension, which the athlete can appeal, has been in effect since September 14, 2022. All statistics and awards earned between January 19 and September 14, 2022 will be void.
The veteran is the brother of retired defenseman Dennis Seidenberg, who played 859 games in the National League, mostly with the Boston Bruins.
