2023 – GEOGRAPHERS DAY. The day of geographer in memory of the death of the expert Francisco Pascasio Moreno.

Moreno died in Buenos Aires on November 22, 1919, at the age of 67. The geographer, paleontologist, naturalist and researcher is known for exploring Patagonia and promoting the creation of national parks. He was also the architect of the border with Chile.

Cecilia Grierson, the country’s first woman to obtain a medical degree, was born in Buenos Aires after graduating from the Faculty of Medical Sciences at the University of Buenos Aires at the age of 30. She founded the School of Nurses of the Argentine Medical Circle, which today bears her name.

1875 – PABLO PODESTÁ. The Uruguayan actor, sculptor and musician Pablo Podesta, considered one of the founders of the Creole circus, was born in Montevideo. He was one of the greatest figures in Argentine theater of his time.

1955 – EVA PERON. Under the civil-military regime presided over by Pedro Aramburu, a group of soldiers under the command of the head of Army Intelligence, Carlos Moori Koenig, kidnapped the remains of Maria Eva Duarte de Perón in the General Confederation of Labor, where she was resting had since her death. the First Lady in 1952.

1963 – JOHN F. KENNEDY. At the age of 46, American President John Fitzgerald Kennedy was assassinated by a sniper while traveling in a convertible through the city of Dallas (Texas, USA) with his wife Jacquelin Bouvier and an official delegation. Lee Harvey Oswald, who was murdered by gangster Jack Ruby at the door of the police station where he was being held, was accused of the assassination attempt. The authorship of the attack and its accomplices remains controversial.

1997 – MICHAEL HUTCHENCE. Australian musician, composer and singer Michael Hutchence, singer of the popular rock band INXS, with whom he sold more than 65 million records, dies in the city of Sydney at the age of 37.

2014 – LIONEL MESSI. Barcelona’s Argentine star Lionel Messi becomes the Spanish Football League’s all-time top scorer by scoring three of the goals that helped his team beat Sevilla 5-1, reaching 253 wins against the record of 251, that the Spaniard Telmo Zarra had.
