The journalist Elaine Cristina da Silva Santos died this Tuesday (November 21st) at the age of 38 as a result of health complications. TV Canção Nova, the channel where she anchored a news program and worked for over 15 years, confirmed the news. The communication vehicle is located in Cachoeira Paulista (SP).
According to a statement from the broadcaster, Elaine had to be admitted to a hospital in Lorena (SP) on Monday morning (November 20th), but could not resist and died this Tuesday. The journalist had respiratory failure due to pneumonia and a generalized infection. Elaine was 23 weeks pregnant with her second child, who also did not survive.
Elaine was married and leaves behind her husband and a son aged 1 year and 8 months. In a statement, Canção Nova said they were in prayer and offered condolences to family and friends. The burial of both bodies is scheduled for this Wednesday at 10 a.m.
