I’m A Celeb viewers call on producers to intervene after Nella Rose’s “unacceptable” outburst at Fred Sirieix – as fans compare Dadgate to Roxanne Pallett’s CBB Punchgate

I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! Viewers have called on show bosses to intervene following Nella Rose’s “unacceptable” behavior in the jungle.

The 26-year-old influencer shocked viewers when she lashed out at 51-year-old Fred Sirieix for claiming he could be “her father”, branding him a “crazy” and claiming she wouldn’t speak to or from him Prepared meals eat rest of their time in camp.

First Dates star Fred had pointed out the 25-year age difference, but Nella was offended by the wording because she had told housemates hours earlier that she had lost both her parents.

A snippet of the comment was shown to viewers before their argument, prompting stunned viewers to claim that Nella had overreacted and begged producers to intervene and speak to Nella about her behavior.

Several fans compared the row to Celebrity Big Brother’s infamous “Punchgate,” when Roxanne Pallett accused her housemate Ryan Thomas of “repeatedly and deliberately punching” her, even though he had actually lightly tapped her on the arm during the game fight.

The incident comes five years after CBB’s punchgate, which Ofcom said was the most complained about moment of the decade.

Ryan was left stunned and devastated by Roxanne’s accusations, as he repeatedly maintained his innocence after Big Brother cruelly issued him an official warning – despite footage clearly showing Roxanne’s allegations were completely false.

Roxanne – who later dubbed herself “Britain’s most hated woman” – later quit the show admitting she was wrong after seeing Ryan’s devastation, which resulted in him collapsing in the house several times.

Ofcom received a staggering 25,327 complaints about the incident.

The heated exchange between Nella and Fred was shown just minutes after Tuesday’s episode of I’m A Celebrity.

In the scenes, the housemates complained about the wet weather, with Fred saying: “It’s just rain, rain, rain, it throws it down.”

Grace said: “For me the camp feels like day 11 at Glastonbury.” Really rainy Glastonbury. Instead of seeing Coldplay tonight, I’m just going to see Fred in his underpants again.’

Fred then tried to offer Nella rice, but she ignored his calls.

In the Bush Telegraph, Nella explained: “Last night after dinner Fred made a comment about how he might actually be my father.”

“I found that offensive because one of the first conversations we had was me talking openly about my father dying.”

Fred asked again: “Seriously, Nella, you should eat something, don’t you think?” Nella? Nella? Nella?’ when she asked, “Right, then why does he keep calling me?”

Fred called out again, “Nella?” As the Bush Telegraph camera switched to Nella and she continued, “I didn’t say anything about it last night because I was just annoyed about it.” So I slept on it and kind of thought about it, and I was just like, “That’s not the kind of person I want to be with.”

Fred walked up to Nella and said, “Nella? Treasure? You don’t want to eat?’ to which she replied, “Can you leave me alone?” and Fred replied, “OK.” He further asked, “What have I done to you?”

Nella explained that he had made a comment the day before and said, “You know my mother is dead, and you know my father is dead.” You know that, right?

“I’ve found that any time I want to get creative around the fire, or any time I want something my way, my own food that I’m entitled to, my way, you tend to develop an attitude, right ?”

“Yesterday, when I was trying to burn fat that you were going to throw away anyway, which isn’t even something we needed to survive in the camp, you turned to me with an attitude and said, ‘You know it could be me.’ .” “Your father, right?” I don’t care how you said it to me, it’s disrespectful and I don’t want to talk to you.

“I don’t want to be around you.” I only allow others to disrespect me once. You hurt my feelings.

“I was very upset… you keep trying to talk to me even though I don’t want to talk to you.” I would rather stay away from you, I don’t want to eat your food, I don’t want to talk to you. We can just live, you live on this side, I live on this side.’

Fred replied, “I’m so sorry.” Can I just say it? First of all, I’m sorry for offending you. I am not aware that you were offended. “I’m not aware that what I said would lead to this conversation, I just said it in a way because I’m older than you, I’m 51 and you’re 26.”

Nella said, “I’m not stupid, you’re not going to make me a little girl, you’re not.”

Fred said, “Nella, it wasn’t like that at all.”

Fred added: “Either I made a mistake and said something and offended you, I’m really sorry. ‘I’m really sorry you feel that way.’

Nella said: “I accept your apology, but in order for us to live together in this camp, I don’t want to eat anything you cook, don’t talk to me, you stay over there, I’ll stay here and we can live.” I’m doing well. Yes. You stay over there. Look at your face, you’re smiling.’

Fred continued asking, “You could have just said, ‘Sorry, Fred, that’s getting on my nerves.'”

Nella said: “Can’t you pay attention to the mood?”

Fred replied, “No, because you slept quite a bit, so I thought you were tired.” If I have unintentionally and unconsciously committed a faux pas, I am very sorry.

“But that was all. That was all. “If you want to take it to the nth degree and stop speaking to me, it’s your decision.”

Nella said to Fred: “You only have one chance to respect me.” I accept your apology, but let’s not be friends. How about that?’

Viewers were quick to brand Nella’s attitude as “disgusting” while “Poor Fred” quickly became a trend on X.

Nella has previously spoken about her tragic past, as the devastating loss of both parents and her older brother plunged her into homelessness while at university.

Nella, whose full name is Ornella Rose Hollela, previously told her TikTok followers: “When you are an immigrant, you have been homeless, you have lost both parents, the family has disowned you, body shames you constantly, but God continues to bless you .”

She has opened up about the trauma of her mother Eseho Omolongo’s sudden death in 2016, revealing that she died in her arms and describing it as the worst thing that ever happened to her.

And further tragedy struck for Nella when four years later, in 2020, her father Kamango Paul Hollela also passed away – prompting her to pen an emotional tribute in which she spoke of his suffering and promised to make him ” proudest father”.

Nella is of Congolese descent and came to the UK from Belgium at the age of seven with her mother and older brother Albert.

The I’m A Celebrity contestant wanted to lose her thick French accent and watched videos of Ant and Dec while growing up in north-west London to adopt a British accent.

After her mother died unexpectedly in 2016, the council took the family home back from the teenager and her brother, leaving Nella to live in her accommodation at Leicester University or with friends.

Nella’s father Kamango Paul Hollela also died tragically four years after her mother. After his death, she wrote a poignant Instagram post to him that said: “Rest in peace dad.”

“Watching you suffer for the last month has been the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life, but at least you’re not in pain anymore.”

“I will make you the proudest father ever for years to come because I know you are still there every step of the way.”
