(Quebec) The leader of the Conservative Party of Quebec (PCQ) is taking advantage of the discontent in the Coalition Avenir Québec (CAQ) faction to reach out to dissatisfied elected officials. Éric Duhaime invites the “disappointed Caquists” to take the plunge into his training, addressing in particular the Beauceron deputy Luc Provençal.

“Luc Provençal is one of the most conservatives in the CAQ deputation. He would do useful work for democracy if he joined us to finally give a voice to 530,000 voters,” said Éric Duhaime in an interview with La Presse.
The CAQ MP for Beauce-Nord said Tuesday he was unhappy with the multi-million dollar subsidy paid to the Los Angeles Kings to come to Quebec for preseason games. “This goes against my values,” Mr. Provençal said.
The oldest member of the National Assembly had also publicly expressed his dissatisfaction with his own government’s abandonment of the idea of a third motorway connection.

Éric Duhaime believes that the CAQ should finally make the leap to the Conservatives. He recalled that in the last elections, Mr Provençal won by only 202 votes over the conservative candidate Olivier Dumais. Mr Duhaime reiterated that the CAQ was only able to win this constituency thanks to the strength of the Provençal candidate.
“If we had an election tomorrow in Beauce, we would definitely win,” believes Mr. Duhaime. “Without Luc Provençal we would already have a deputy in Beauce-Nord. It would have democratic legitimacy to cross it. »
The PCQ is still looking for its first member of the National Assembly. Éric Duhaime is therefore hoping for the exit of an official elected by the CAQ who would follow in the footsteps of the former MP for Iberville, Claire Samson.
“All disappointed CAQ members who, like us, are against subsidies for billionaire teams and want to reduce the tax burden on taxpayers are welcome in the PCQ,” reiterated Éric Duhaime on Wednesday.
“I speak to everyone except Éric Caire because I think he has lost all his credibility,” said Judge Duhaime in the third case. “You can’t lie so blatantly.” You can’t risk your seat on the third stretch and stay put… He has deceived his voters. I can not accept this. »
Two CAQ MPs publicly criticized the decision to allocate public money to Kings games on Tuesday. On Wednesday, a Pallas Data/L’Actualité poll suggested the CAQ is in free fall in its electoral intentions. In the Quebec region, the CAQ is now fourth and the PCQ is second, behind the PQ.
