Luanda, November 22 (Prensa Latina) The President of Angola, João Lourenço, today received personalities who took part in the third edition of the Pan-African Forum for Culture of Peace and Non-Violence, which will take place until November 24.
According to a report by Angola Public Television, among those invited to the Luanda Biennale with whom the president spoke was the President of Sao Tome and Principe, Carlos Vila Nova, with whom he discussed cooperation between the two nations.
The head of state also spoke with the Deputy Director of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), Xing Qu, and the President of the African Union (AU) Commission, Moussa Faki Mahamat.
With the latter, he addressed issues related to the peace and security of the continent, including the situation in Sudan, the Sahel and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
He also met with former AU leaders and advisers, Olusengu Obasanjo of Nigeria; Joaquim Chissano from Mozambique and Joyce Banda from Malawi.
During the intense first day of the Biennale, Lourenço also exchanged ideas with Afreximbank Vice President Benedict Okey Oramah; as well as with a group of artists involved in the development of the event.
This Tuesday the forum opened, attended by more than 800 people from 63 countries, including heads of state and government, representatives of institutions and members of society.
The event program includes six panels, of which the panel dedicated to young people as actors in promoting a culture of peace and social change on the African continent became an intergenerational dialogue and a high-level segment.
Technology and education were also discussed as tools for achieving gender equality.
