“He was able to establish himself with a company, he had a winery. He was even married to a Paraguayan woman and carried out his normal activities as a merchant. After investigations, we managed to find him,” emphasized Pereira.

The detainee will now undergo the appropriate procedures for his extradition to his country of origin, where he will serve the three sentences he owes to the Italian justice system, a total of 10 years, two months and 29 days, said the local Interpol agent.

Local media recall that Paraguay has traditionally served as a haven for drug trafficking gang leaders and other international criminals from other countries, particularly from neighboring Brazil.
