In a video published this Thursday on Instagram, Serafim Abreu, the CEO of Time for Fun, the company responsible for Taylor Swift’s shows in Brazil, responded to a series of allegations that the company has faced since her debut of the Singer faced tour in Brazil, on Friday (17), in Rio de Janeiro.
The video was released a day after Rio de Janeiro’s consumer police launched an investigation into the conduct of the organizers of Taylor Swift’s concert in Brazil.
Abreu said that Time for Fun aims for the comfort of fans, but acknowledges that the company should have taken measures such as creating shaded areas outside the Engenhão Stadium in Rio, changing the time of the singer’s performances and highlighting the possibility of entry can stadiums with disposable water cups.
He apologized “to anyone who did not have the best possible experience at the shows” and for the delay in commenting publicly. He also recognized that from now on his company and other organizers will have to adapt to the extreme heat that is ravaging the country.
According to him, this is the first time in 40 years that a death has occurred at a Time for Fun event. Abreu mourned the loss of young Ana Clara and expressed his condolences to her family. He also made himself available to provide assistance and stated that the offer of assistance had been made since the death.
He added that plastic water bottles and water glasses were allowed at Taylor Swift’s shows in São Paulo due to government permits.
Ana Clara Benevides, 23, died last week during Taylor Swift’s first concert in Brazil after feeling unwell. Benevides lay on the railing in front of the stage and fainted on the spot. Temperatures in the stadium reached 60°C.
