(CNN) – The President-elect of Argentina, Javier Milei, thanked this Wednesday for the letter sent to him by the President of China, Xi Jinping, to congratulate him on his electoral victory.
“I thank President Xi Jinping for the congratulations and good wishes he sent me in his letter. I send him my sincerest wishes for the well-being of the Chinese people,” Milei said.

Milei shared a photo of the letter translated into Spanish and dated November 21st via her personal account on X, formerly Twitter.
“Having learned of your election as President of the Argentine Republic, I would like to extend sincere congratulations and best wishes on behalf of the Chinese government and people, as well as on my own behalf,” the letter begins.
The Chinese leader emphasized the mutual respect between the two countries and attached great importance to the development of their relations. He added that he was ready to work with the President-elect to promote development and revitalization.
Xi Jinping hoped that under Milei’s leadership, “the government and people of your country will achieve new achievements in national construction.”

The President of the United States, Joe Biden, held a telephone conversation this Wednesday with the President-elect of Argentina, Javier Milei. This was confirmed by sources from the right-wing leader’s team to CNN and the White House in a statement.
“President Biden spoke with Argentina’s President-elect Javier Milei to congratulate him and discuss the importance of continuing to expand our strong bilateral relationship,” the White House said in a brief statement, adding that it I will publish more detailed texts later.
“The conversation was very good,” a spokesman for Milei told CNN, adding that Biden congratulated him on the runoff victory while also congratulating him on the U.S. role in negotiating the hostages held by Hamas in Gaza.
“They talked about work on food and energy,” the spokesman added.
