Teyana Taylor has accused Iman Shumpert of being involved in multiple cheating scandals and being “extremely emotionally and mentally abusive” toward her in divorce documents obtained by TMZ on November 23.
The singer cited in legal documents she secretly filed in Georgia in January that her seven-year marriage was “irretrievably broken.”
Taylor previously revealed in a post on Instagram on September 17 that she and Shumpert had been separated for some time and that “infidelity” did not play a role in their split.
However, she claims things were very different behind the scenes during her divorce filing, which she reportedly tried to keep as private as possible by using her initials.
The report didn’t provide any further details about the alleged cheating scandals – but Taylor claimed that after she filed for divorce in January, Shumpert insisted they get back together, only to get caught up in another cheating scandal.

Taylor said she was ashamed and humiliated and accused Shumpert of cruel treatment, narcissistic behavior and jealousy of her career and fame throughout most of their marriage.
The actress decided to file for divorce because she “couldn’t handle the emotional rollercoaster.”
Taylor said she “deliberately began dimming the lights” for her husband in an attempt to have a harmonious and peaceful marriage while he became “increasingly angry” over her fame.
Taylor also claimed that Shumpert crashed her Rolls Royce and fled the scene to avoid being arrested for drunk driving.
She also cited his previous arrest for driving under the influence and his arrest in 2022 for possession of weed at an airport.
Taylor claimed that Shumpert would get annoyed when they were out at events together because photographers would ask him to step aside to capture them.
She accused the NBA champion of not feeling confident he was good enough for her when he signed his $40 million contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2015.
Previously, Shumpert had an impressive start to his career with the Knicks after being selected in the first round of the 2011 NBA Draft by Georgia Tech.

According to court documents, Taylor claimed Shumpert began sending her condescending text messages containing manipulative language about her fame, arguing with her for no reason and then apologizing.
She claimed she turned down various music opportunities and acting jobs because Shumpert “didn’t want her to work” – but when she stopped working after the birth of one of her daughters, he complained that she wasn’t making any money.
Taylor said Shumpert “responded with further cruelty and selfishness” when she tried to save her marriage.

Shumpert left her family’s home in October and Taylor said he hasn’t spent much time with their two daughters, Junie, 7, and Rue, 3, since then, court records show.
Taylor is seeking temporary and permanent primary custody as well as joint legal custody and child support.
According to TMZ, the documents were released as Shumpert revealed their full names in his divorce proceedings.
The allegations in the documents contradict what Taylor said publicly in September.
“To be fair, Iman and I are separated and have been for a while,” she said in her September 17 Instagram post, calling Shumpert her best friend and business partner. “To be clear, ‘infidelity’ is not one of the reasons we left.”
Taylor further explained that the split was “peaceful” and they were focused on raising their two children.
“Most importantly, we are a FAMILY and in the 10 years together, in the 7 years married we have never played with it,” she wrote. I was able to separate successfully and peacefully without all the outside noise.
“The only reason I’m even sharing THIS part of the chat is because the narrative is getting a little out of hand and it’s unfair to everyone involved.”
Taylor and Shumpert tied the knot in 2016.
