The young Buffalo Sabers forward scored a major accomplishment with his first career goal in the National Hockey League (NHL).
On Wednesday evening, the 18-year-old hockey player hit the mark in the game against the Washington Capitals. Benson shot the puck between his legs to deceive goaltender Darcy Kuemper’s alertness.
It was the fifth point of the season for the man who was drafted with the third pick in the first round of the 2023 amateur auction. Benson has played in nine games so far this season. The Sabers are therefore still returning him to his junior team, the Winnipeg Ice, without losing any of the years of his rookie contract. We bet his team will be tempted to keep him in the NHL after seeing what he can do with the puck.
