The Peru Cup is in its final phase. This Sunday, November 26th, FC San Marcos and ADA Jaén will face each other in the final of the promotion competition. Both clubs reach this stage having overachieved John Paul II and UCV Moquegua, respectively. The cast consists of young characters but also experienced players. Jair Yglesias
The list couldn’t begin without mentioning the case churches, an experienced player with a past in the highest category of Peruvian football. Fabio and José Rojas Tirado
The 24-year-old twins have gained popularity thanks to the exposure they gained from broadcasting the games. Fabio and José come from Chimbote and are old friends from the Peru Cup. The presence of both was crucial for advancing to the final. As an anecdote, Fabio and José told that from a young age they were compared to the Korioto brothers, fictional characters from the series “Supercampeones”.
Hector Campos
The 27-year-old midfielder, known as “Caramelo”, arrived at the Ancashina store this season. In 2023 he has the opportunity to repeat the same thing with FC San Marcos and win the cup: a year ago he did the same with Deportivo Garcilaso. This young talent played in second division football in the colors of Willy Serrato, Carlos Mannucci, Los Caimanes and others. What is special, however, is that he was signed by historic Colombian club Independiente Medellín in 2019, who eventually loaned him out to Deportivo Coopsol.
Bremen horn
This experienced 35-year-old footballer from Chimbotano wore the silk jerseys of great teams such as Carlos Mannucci from Trujillo, Alfonso Ugarte from Puno and Sport Áncash. The curious thing about this talented midfielder is that he can boast of scoring the fastest goal in the 2022 Peru Cup and perhaps in its entire history. Three seconds were enough for him to score a really great goal from midfield while defending the colors of Atlético Bruces.
Alessandro Stone
Stein was a key player between the three posts. His experience was crucial in supporting the team when the rival was superior, for example in the game against Defensor Porvenir. The goalkeeper has already played in professional football for, among others, Alianza Atlético, Juan Aurich and Deportivo Llacuabamba. His arrival at FC San Marcos was due to an unprecedented event: the starting goalkeeper resigned at the start of the national phase to apply to the police. Stein replaced Diego Chauca.
Cesar Sanchez
Teacher Eduardo Vargas’s technical assistant is an old fame of professional football, the historic Juan Aurich. The popular “Flaco” made headlines this year when he announced he would be returning to the courts for a family vow, aged almost 50. The team with which he registered his passport letter was Cruz de Chalpón de Motupe in Lambayeque. As if that were not enough, Sánchez was still the coach of ADA in 2023 before announcing his return to the fields.

Julio Landauri
The 37-year-old experienced player came to Jaén to follow the instructions of Professor Roberto Arrelucea. He is the only player in this final who has worn the colors of the two clubs with the biggest fans in the country: Universitario and Alianza Lima. Likewise, at the U he was managed by the current coach of the Peruvian team, Juan Reynoso.
Bruce Lee Micah
Just look at his name to understand where this profile is going. His name went around the world in 2021. In an interview with local media, when he was still part of Las Palmas de Chota, Brucelee said that his parents had a karate academy and that’s where the idea of calling him a martial arts specialist came from. . He is currently 24 years old and comes from Celendín, Cajamarca.

Carlos Leon
The 30-year-old striker already knows what it means to win the Peru Cup. In fact, he became champion in 2019 with Carlos Stein’s jersey from the José Leonardo Ortiz district, Chiclayo. Fernando Sanchez
The Lima-born goalkeeper with a Chotano heart made history this year thanks to an outstanding performance in the quarterfinals.
