A 14-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted by a sixty-year-old man while visiting her grandparents at a nudist club in Minnesota last July that was considered “non-sexual” and “family-friendly.”
Last Thursday, 69-year-old Steven H. Wicklund was charged with third-degree criminal sexual conduct against a 14-year-old girl, according to a criminal complaint obtained by the Star Tribune and shared by the New York Post on Tuesday .
The suspected pedophile, who was a friend of the family, allegedly took advantage of the fact that the young girl was visiting her grandparents at the Oakwood Club nudist club to sexually abuse her and force her to touch his genitals while they were naked together sat in the facility.
According to the court document, the man allegedly claimed that it was “good and normal” for him to touch her in this context, the American newspaper said.
But in the months that followed, he is said to have continued to harass her with explicit text messages, asked her sexual questions and, in particular, asked for photos of her and her friends.
The teenager, for her part, remained silent about the incident until her mother accidentally discovered the man’s disturbing demands and immediately reported him to the police, the NY Post reported.
According to American media, Steven H. Wicklund could receive a prison sentence of 15 years and a fine of $30,000 if found guilty. He is scheduled to appear in court on January 12.
