Netflix’s new bet has given people on and off the air something to talk about. “Round 6: The Challenge” premiered on Wednesday (22) and has already reached the top 1 most watched productions in streaming. Based on the hit South Korean series of the same name, which hit theaters in 2021, several curiosities have been expressed by viewers. Is it real or fiction?

It is real. “Round 6: The Challenge” is a program with 456 nonactor participants signed up for the prize $4.56 million (equivalent to R$223 million). Directed by Liz Oakes, the play is produced by ITV Studios Limited’s Studio Lambert and The Garden and recorded in the UK.

Between Elimination challengesare the same ones that appear in the drama, such as “Batatinha Frita 1,2,3” and “Commeia de Açúcar”.

Who wins?

Netflix has not yet released all the episodes of the reality show. According to streaming, they will be released weekly. The public will not find out the winner of the competition until December 6th.

Controversies

Behind the scenes there is only one thing being talked about: the preferential treatment of some wellknown participants in the digital environment. As former players told Rolling Stone magazine, it appeared some people were preselected to get through the rounds regardless of the results.

In one of the reports, former participants made this clear had to take pictures in extremely cold conditions, spent 9 hours in a freezing cold airport hangar and had to repeat recordings under these circumstances. “It was the cruelest thing I’ve ever experienced. “It was like a human horse race, and they treated us like horses running in the cold,” one of the participants told the publication.

Offscreen, “Round 6: The Challenge” wasn’t wellreceived by critics. On IMDb, the series debuted with a rating of 4.1 based on 1,600 reviews, while on Rotten Tomatoes the production only achieved a 42% approval rating from experts and 22% from the general public.
